A picture of a guy entertaining his wife while she was sequestered during radiation therapy for cancer has gone viral.
According to BuzzFeed News, Marci Newman has been receiving radiation therapy after receiving a thyroid cancer diagnosis. She had to stay in seclusion for the treatments.
However, that didn’t stop her husband, Jon Newman, from supporting her.
Mackenna, their 17-year-old daughter, arrived home from school one day to a touching scene. She noticed that her father was seated on a chair outside her mother’s chamber. There was a small crack in the door.
Mackenna posted a photo of her father entertaining her mother on social media.
“My mom has to stay in her room in isolation for her cancer radiation so my dad set up a desk at her door to keep her company and I’m crying,” Mackenna posted to Twitter.
The image gained more than 172,000 likes and 71,000 retweets in a short period of time. A number of people on social media expressed their support for Mackenna and her family.
“Beautiful! True, beautiful, [meaningful] love,” wrote one Twitter user. “All the best to your mom.”

According to Mackenna, she was grateful for all of the love and support she and her family received on social media.
“The amount of love I’ve received is crazy and I didn’t expect any of it, but I’m so grateful,” Mackenna told BuzzFeed News. “I just thought it was sweet because they are so in love.”
The mother of the 17-year-old also mentioned that her husband’s specific action was not unusual.
“Jon goes to every doctor’s appointment, every blood test, every surgery, every radiation,” Marci stated. “And, as you can see, if he can’t be by my side, he is as close as he can get!”
