After Gina and her husband, Brendan, decided to split, Brendan became bitter and spiteful. While sorting out their things, Gina took a weekend away at her parents’ house to clear her head. When she returned, she found all her belongings scattered on the lawn with a sign reading “Free Stuff.”
Furious, she called Brendan, who smugly justified the act, saying it was a lesson for her. But as Gina went through the furniture, she discovered Brendan’s family heirloom watch in a bedside table drawer. With a sense of satisfaction, she pocketed it.
Gina texted her friends to help bring the furniture back inside. Later, Brendan called asking for the watch, and she told him it had been sold. When he offered $500 to get it back, Gina agreed, handing it over when he arrived. As he left, Brendan seemed to regret his actions, but Gina walked away feeling victorious.
