The girls visit their dad’s grave to “show” him their new dresses as he had wished, only to find two boxes with their names on them

To honor their late father’s dying wish, sisters Isla, 6, and Madison, 8, visit his grave on his birthday, dressed in their finest outfits. Near the gravestone, they find two wrapped boxes with their names. Inside are shoes and letters from Brian, their dad, who passed from cancer.

Before he died, Brian promised he’d always put his girls first. His wife, Linda, still struggling with grief, almost forgot his birthday until her daughters reminded her. She took them shopping, honoring Brian’s last request.

At the grave, Linda hides her tears as the girls read Brian’s loving words. His letter reminds them to be happy and to have fun, even to sneak cookies now and then—just as he would have wanted.

The story teaches that love endures beyond death, and parents always find ways to keep their children smiling, even from afar.
